Network Cabling Technician

• Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks and power tools safely to access difficult or elevated areas during installation or maintenance tasks.
• Read and interpret schematics, technical diagrams, and blueprints to accurately execute cabling layouts in accordance with project specifications.
• Perform fiber splicing and troubleshooting to ensure optimal data transmission quality for telecommunication networks.
• Assist in the setup and configuration of network infrastructure components like switches, routers, telephony systems, and other IT hardware.
• Conduct site surveys to determine the best routes for cabling runs while adhering to safety standards and electrical codes.
• Climb ladders or structures as needed for cable installation or inspection, maintaining safety protocols at all times.

• Proven experience in field service roles involving telecommunication or network cabling installation.
• Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN, WAN, Ethernet, and low voltage systems.
• Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment necessary for cable installation.
• Experience operating heavy equipment such as bucket trucks or cranes is highly desirable.
• Ability to read schematics, technical diagrams, and blueprints related to network infrastructure projects.
• Electrical experience or background in electrical systems is a plus.
