Job description
The Data Scientist (ability to hire at multiple levels based on experience) will collaborate with members of Analytics and business users to build predictive models using third party and enterprise data. This position will work cross-functionally spanning departments such as Business Units, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, and IT.
This role is open only to candidates authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
What You'll Do - Results
- Collaborate with Analytics leadership to develop an understanding of the business' data analytics needs
- Break down problems into pieces that can be solved with data, analysis, assumptions, and judgment
- Cleanse, integrate and evaluate large datasets
- Research and apply innovative statistical and machine learning models for data analysis
- Identify patterns and insights from the data
- Communicate findings through reports, dashboard, etc. to stakeholders, including non-technical business users to leadership
- Write structured and understandable code to enable smooth collaboration across the team and successful model deployment
- Facilitate projects from concept through deployment
- Collaborate with Data Engineering to deploy models into production
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in mathematics, business, economics, statistics, computer science, data science, or related field of study
- Experience in a relevant field dealing with large data sets, conducting complex business analyses and presenting findings/conclusions in a compelling manner
- Technical skills including the suite of Microsoft Office products, cloud-based computing, and coding skills (such as SQL and Python)
- Understanding of machine learning methods, applied statistical analysis (regression, time-series, inferential statistics), exploratory data analysis including clustering
- Able to adapt to the use of different tools as appropriate
- Strong collaboration and facilitation skills
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively in a cross functional environment
- Results oriented individual with a bias for action
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with Power BI, SAP, Salesforce CRM, and/or pricing software such as PriceFX
- Demonstrated business acumen and experience in manufacturing and/or food and beverage packaging industries
- Experience with operational excellence, lean processes, continuous improvement
