Job description

DRI's Information Technology department is seeking a dedicated, full-time Computer Service Specialist I position to manage conference room scheduling, conference room equipment and software, and assist users with all audio/visual (A/V) requests. This position is also responsible for managing voice over IP (VOIP) phones, composing and maintaining documentation, training users and staff on A/V technology and conference room capabilities, performing software updates and remote deployments, and assisting with cloud dashboard management. This position is located in Reno, NV., * Manage all A/V and scheduling requests, including assisting users with scheduling questions or scheduling conflicts

  • Provide excellent customer service as the primary point of contact for all AV related requests
  • Maintain video conference room hardware and software
  • Compose and update documents, especially those related to A/V equipment and capabilities
  • Create and deliver quarterly training seminars either in-person and/or virtually to users on how to use the A/V equipment, how to submit IT tickets and other related topics
  • Manage the VOIP phone system, including phone number assignment and setup of calling trees and queues. Assist with other requests when assigned
  • Ensure remote connectivity software is up to date and on all systems that use it
  • Maintain the cloud remote connectivity dashboard as devices are purchased and decommissioned
  • Build and test app packages for automated software installations via Microsoft Intune
  • Keep critical software packages up to date on a weekly basis and review all software quarterly

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent AND two (2) years of full-time experience in computer user support at an equivalent level of complexity OR an Associate's degree in computer information systems or related field. A currently valid CompTIA A+ certification may be substituted for 1 year of experience.
  • Experience with Video Conferencing and A/V setup
  • Experience with basic PC/Mac support
  • Basic skills with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Basic experience with Adobe Acrobat, * Bachelor's degree in computer information systems or related field
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Intermediate skills in Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams Rooms
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams Phone

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to sit for long periods of time and lift, push, and or pull objects weighing up to 40 lbs., As part of the hiring process, applicants for positions in the Nevada System of Higher Education may be required to demonstrate the ability to perform job-related tasks.

Benefits & conditions

This is a DRI Technologist position, Grade 35, with a salary range from $63,059 - $81,574. Starting salary is commensurate with experience and education and alignment with similar public academic-research institutions.

DRI offers a benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, and life insurance (flexible spending and health savings account options available); PERS 19.25% retirement match, 10 hours of annual leave and 10 hours of sick leave accrued per month, and 12 paid holidays Additionally, there is no state income tax or social security deduction.
