Job description
- Administer and maintain relational databases across SQL Server and cloud-hosted platforms
- Optimize database performance through indexing strategies, query tuning, and resource management
- Configure and manage replication, backups, and recovery procedures
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks, locking issues, and data inconsistencies
- Deploy and manage cloud database services and related infrastructure components
- Collaborate with engineering teams to support application releases and infrastructure updates
- Implement and maintain access controls, security configurations, and compliance standards
- Monitor system health and proactively address risks to uptime and performance
- Support data integration workflows and pipeline reliability across systems
- Participate in incident response and provide on-call support as needed, * Work environment may include a mix of remote and on-site collaboration depending on team needs
- Participation in after-hours support or incident response rotations may be required
- This role operates within a high-volume, multi-database environment requiring strong prioritization skills

Requirements
We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to support a dynamic infrastructure environment spanning both on-premise and cloud-based systems. This is a high-impact role requiring deep expertise in relational databases and cloud data services, with a focus on performance optimization, system reliability, and modernization initiatives. Candidates who demonstrate strong troubleshooting ability and hands-on experience across multiple database platforms will be prioritized for interview consideration. Must Haves
- 5+ years of hands-on database administration experience
- Strong expertise in SQL Server and cloud-based relational databases
- Proven experience with AWS RDS, DMS, and cloud-native data architectures
- Advanced knowledge of indexing, query tuning, and schema design
- Experience managing replication, backups, and database recovery processes
- Proficiency in Scripting (eg, Python) for automation and support tasks
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code tools, and version control systems
- Ability to manage multiple database environments in a fast-paced setting
