Job description
The IT Support Specialist provides comprehensive technical support to company employees, ensuring reliable operation of hardware, software, and network systems. This role serves as the primary point of contact for end-user technical issues onsite, while also delivering remote support to our global teams, to ensure uninterrupted productivity across the organization., Deliver advanced technical support and troubleshooting for end users at the Anaheim, CA facility of Legrand's Data, Power, and Control business division, as well as provide remote support for global sites and users
Leverage deep knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure, network systems, and application environments, including Windows computers, OT systems, and IoT devices, to support manufacturing operations
Regularly communicate and collaborate with internal and external IT functional experts, manufacturing staff and business stakeholders to ensure correct and timely support is delivered
Manage cybersecurity vulnerabilities and partner with IT staff and business users on cybersecurity initiatives, to implement innovative solutions
Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software technical issues
Maintain and repair computers and peripheral devices
Facilitate new employee setup, deployment, and onboarding
Maintain accurate inventory of IT equipment
Install and configure software on user machines to optimize system performance
Coordinate maintenance and repairs with third-party vendors
Purchase and provision IT supplies
Perform other duties as necessary or assigned
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
ITIL 4 Foundation certification preferred
Experience: 3+ years of IT user support experience preferred; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Proven IT experience supporting end users and computer systems is required
Experience supporting Windows servers and network environments is preferred
Working understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP network protocols is required
Familiarity with ITSM principles and best practices is required
Exercise professional interpersonal judgement and discretion to ensure productive relationships
Skilled at diagnosing and resolving complex technical problems
Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies
Professionally and effectively communicate and work in a cross cultural/functional matrix organization
Must be able to work independently and collaboratively within diverse cultures
Effective planning, organizational, time-management skills, and demonstrated ownership and accountability in a fast-paced, high-growth environment are required
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift, move and/or transport equipment weighing up to 25 pounds
Ability to install/remove equipment and/or related wiring underneath desks or other confined areas with limited space
Ability to engage in repetitive bending and/or twisting to assemble, assess, maintain or disassemble equipment and/or wiring
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
