Job description

Responsible for creating and formatting publications, assessments, and other materials in printed, digital, and web-based formats; including translating, proofreading and editing., Support:

  • Serve as an expert and provide formatting support to other SBISD staff.

  • Support the Web Master by completing document/file uploads to the website.

  • Work directly with department and division leaders to conceptualize and design district publications for all stakeholders, staff, parents, community, and students.

  • Responsible for recognizing the need for cross-referencing updates across multiple publications.

  • Collaborate with colleagues in varied specialties to develop effective problem-solving solutions.

  • Responsible for creation, modification, and editing of recurring projects including student/parent handbooks, code of conduct, graduation programs, grading expectations, substitute handbook, and district academic calendar.

  • Assemble aggregated data into engaging presentations for up to 40 campuses 3 times per year for Accountability Reviews and Campus Improvement Plans.

  • Handles confidential accountability reports prior to public release.

  • Supports the planning, execution, and review of up to 6 events annually for student events and assessment administrations.

  • Prioritize competing projects from multiple departments to meet tight schedule demands.

  • Serve as back up to administrative assistant as needed Other:

  • Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Equipment Used: Computer and various office equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Some college required.

  • Two-year degree or Technical Certification preferred. Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat DC.

  • Proficient in translating, typing, and formatting document into Spanish.

  • Specialized knowledge or ability to learn Microsoft Word's formatting capacities.

  • Ability to aggregate data and provide data visualizations for presentations and publications using Excel.

  • Proficient in summarizing and synthesizing information to assist in providing summary reports.

  • Broad knowledge of Google Apps.

  • Fundamental knowledge in the production of web-based documents with hyperlinks.

  • HTML knowledge and/or experience with FinalSite a plus.

  • Edit materials for spelling, grammar, punctuation, consistency, and accuracy.

  • Ability to perform repetitive processes requiring attention to detail.

  • Correlate Spanish documents to the English equivalent.

  • Detail-oriented, self-directed, and dedicated.

  • Excellent writing, editing, and communications skills

  • Solid interpersonal skills and a reliable work ethic to handle sensitive information.

  • Strong attention to detail, reliable proof reader with both text and data.

  • Work well independently and as a member of a team.

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with others and on cross-functional teams.

  • Highly organized, skillful in prioritizing, and ability to multi-task.

  • Ability to manage feedback from multiple sources. Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of related experience.

  • Bookkeeping and budget reconciliation are preferred.

  • Experience working in district and/or campus administration preferred.
