Job description
As a Senior Solutions Architect in the Automotive and Manufacturing (AutoMfg) vertical, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor, helping customers navigate complex architectural decisions across smart factory/Industry 4.0 initiatives, supply chain optimization, connected vehicle platforms, autonomous driving workloads, digital twins, and software-defined vehicle (SDV) strategies.
We are looking for individuals who are motivated by the opportunity to work backwards from customer needs and help them gain competitive advantage using AWS. As an experienced technologist and key member of the Account Team, you will influence customers' architectural choices across broad use cases involving IoT, edge computing, high-performance computing (HPC), security, data lakes and analytics, AI/ML, simulation, and robotics - as well as foundational services spanning compute, storage, and networking.
You will provide exceptional technical design guidance and thought leadership, lead efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge with the broader AWS Solutions Architecture community, and develop reusable industry reference architectures. You will also have the opportunity to learn from, collaborate with, and educate some of the brightest technical minds in the industry today across the breadth of enterprise and operational technology architecture.
Key job responsibilities Own the technical relationship with key Automotive and Manufacturing accounts, acting as the primary technical point of contact and trusted advisor to C-suite, VP-level engineering leaders, and senior technical stakeholders.
Architect and design scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions for industry-specific workloads including digital twin environments, MES/SCADA cloud integration, predictive maintenance, smart factory deployments, connected vehicle data platforms, ADAS/AD simulation pipelines.
Bridge IT and OT - bring a unique ability to connect traditional enterprise IT architectures with operational technology (OT) environments on the shop floor, at the edge, and in the vehicle, leveraging AWS IoT, edge, and hybrid services.
Drive technical strategy by developing and executing technical account plans aligned with customers' business objectives and digital transformation roadmaps.
Lead proof-of-concept engagements and architectural reviews (including Well-Architected Reviews) to accelerate customer adoption and derisk production deployments.
Influence product roadmaps by partnering closely with AWS service teams (e.g., IoT, AI/ML, Graviton, Outposts, Wavelength) to relay customer requirements and advocate for industry-specific feature development.
Develop and scale industry thought leadership - create reference architectures, whitepapers, blog posts, and re-usable technical assets for the AutoMfg vertical. Present at AWS events (re:Invent, Summits, industry conferences) and customer executive briefings.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Account Managers, Partner Solutions Architects, Professional Services, ISV/SI partners, and AWS specialist teams to deliver comprehensive solutions.
Mentor and elevate other Solutions Architects within the team, contributing to technical community development through knowledge sharing, bar-raising, and best-practice codification.
Think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges - connect the dots between industry megatrends (electrification, SDV, Industry 4.0, sustainability) and AWS capabilities.
About the team The Automotive and Manufacturing Solutions Architecture team is a specialized group of technologists passionate about helping the world's leading vehicle manufacturers, industrial companies, and mobility innovators transform through cloud. We work at the intersection of technology and physical-world engineering - from the factory floor to the connected car to the autonomous future.
