Job description
Participants may rotate through or specialize in one or more of the following IT areas: Help Desk / IT Support
- Provide Tier 1-2 technical support to end users
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
- Document incidents using ticketing systems
- Support user account management and system access
Systems Administration
- Assist with administration of Windows/Linux environments
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and group policies (e.g., Active Directory)
- Perform system maintenance, patching, and monitoring
- Support virtualization and cloud-based environments
Network Engineering
- Assist with configuration and maintenance of network infrastructure
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues
- Work with routers, switches, firewalls, and secure communications
- Support implementation of cybersecurity best practices
Software Development
- Participate in software design, development, and testing
- Work with modern programming languages and frameworks
- Support DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems
- Contribute to automation and scripting efforts
Cybersecurity / Information Assurance
- Assist with vulnerability assessments and system hardening
- Support compliance with DoD security standards
- Monitor systems for security incidents and anomalies, * Gain hands-on experience in a production IT environment supporting federal missions
- Apply technical skills to real-world projects and operational tasks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior technical staff
- Participate in training, mentorship, and knowledge-sharing sessions
- Develop professional skills for transition into civilian IT careers
Requirements
- Active secret clearance (or higher)
- Active IAT II certification (Security+) or higher
- Active Duty Service Member eligible for DoD SkillBridge
- Within 180 days of separation or retirement
- Command approval for participation
