Job description

We are seeking an infrastructure focused Automation Engineer to join our Enterprise IT Automation Team. This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong background in networking, systems, virtualization, or endpoint computing who is passionate about automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

You will work within an established enterprise automation team responsible for building, operating, and governing infrastructure automation at scale. This role offers hands on experience with modern automation tooling, well defined standards, and opportunities to help evolve those standards, while working closely with multiple IT domains.

What You'll Do

  • Design, build, and maintain enterprise infrastructure automation using Ansible and scripting languages
  • Automate provisioning, configuration management, and operational workflows across infrastructure platforms
  • Build event driven automation, triggered by monitoring alerts, incidents, or workflow systems
  • Partner with teams across Networking, Central Systems, Security, Endpoint, and other IT domains to enable repeatable, standardized automation
  • Contribute automation content using Git based workflows and CI/CD pipelines
  • Integrate automation with upstream and downstream systems using APIs and data sources
  • Support observability and operational automation through integrations with tools such as Splunk
  • Follow and contribute to enterprise automation standards, patterns, and governance models

Requirements

The following capabilities are considered core requirements for success in this role:

  • Strong background in an infrastructure domain (networking, systems, virtualization, or endpoint computing)
  • Hands on experience automating infrastructure (Ansible or similar automation frameworks)
  • Comfort with scripting using Python and/or PowerShell, plus YAML
  • Experience working with Git repositories and in a CI/CD and Agile development environment
  • Experience working within GitOps and Gitflow based development workflows at an enterprise scale
  • Experience integrating or automating across multiple platforms using APIs

Preferred / Desirable Experience

  • Experience with NetBox
  • Experience with Splunk or observability driven automation
  • Experience with ServiceNow triggered automation or CMDB automation
  • Familiarity with DevOps and SRE concepts beyond basic monitoring and runbooks

What Makes Someone Successful Here

  • Strong foundational infrastructure knowledge paired with an automation first mindset
  • Ability to turn manual, error prone processes into repeatable, reliable automation
  • Comfort working across multiple IT teams and technology stacks
  • Willingness to learn and apply enterprise automation standards, patterns, and guardrails
  • Ability to document automation, create runbooks, and support operational handoff
  • Curiosity, pragmatism, and a bias toward operational excellence
