Job description

The IT Systems Engineer is responsible for researching, implementing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise-level technical systems that enable CCMSI's internal operations and client services. This role supports a nationwide technology environment serving over 1,700 employees across 32 locations, providing hardware, software, server, network, cloud, and virtual infrastructure support. Working as part of a collaborative Systems Engineer team of five, this position plays a hands-on role in system implementation, vulnerability management, datacenter operations, and modernization initiatives. The role is hybrid, requiring regular in-office presence and flexibility to come onsite as operational needs or technical issues arise.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, implement, and support enterprise-level technical systems and infrastructure

  • Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and enterprise applications

  • Administer and support on-premise and cloud environments, including Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365

  • Maintain and support a hybrid Windows Server Active Directory and Azure environment

  • Administer and troubleshoot virtualized environments using VMware

  • Provide LAN and WAN network support, including switches, routers, VLANs, and TCP/IP protocols

  • Maintain corporate datacenters and associated hardware and infrastructure

  • Monitor security advisories, vulnerabilities, and patches; apply updates to ensure system security and compliance

  • Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, and networking issues with minimal supervision

  • Support storage environments including SAN, NAS, and DAS using iSCSI protocols

  • Utilize scripting tools such as PowerShell to support automation and system management

  • Partner with IT leadership on system design, equipment recommendations, and technology planning

  • Document technical work, projects, and time reporting in accordance with company standards

  • Collaborate with technical support staff to deliver reliable, scalable solutions, At CCMSI, strong systems engineers deliver stability, security, and innovation. Success in this role is measured by:

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Information Systems and 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise-level systems
  • Strong experience with:
  • Microsoft Windows Server (2016 / 2019 / 2022 / 2025)
  • Active Directory administration
  • Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments
  • VMware virtualized environments
  • TCP/IP networking (DNS, DHCP, FTP)
  • LAN/WAN infrastructure, switches, routers, and VLANs
  • Experience administering storage solutions (SAN, NAS, DAS)
  • Experience with endpoint and patch management solutions
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, initiative, and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Professional discretion and confidentiality

Nice to Have:

  • PowerShell scripting experience
  • Experience supporting large multi-location or nationally distributed environments

Benefits & conditions

$60,000 - $90,000 a year
