Job description
Skycubed is seeking a Network Cyber Engineer with an active SECRET clearance (TS/SCI preferred) to support mission-critical DoW network projects in the cyber domain. This role focuses on network visibility, packet capture infrastructure, intrusion detection support, and secure system hardening in accordance with DoW cybersecurity standards. The selected candidate will support advanced network monitoring and defensive cyber operations., * Install and configure network taps, SPAN/mirror ports, and packet capture infrastructure.
- Support IDS/IPS platforms, network monitoring tools, and forensic analysis initiatives.
- Perform network traffic analysis and PCAP validation.
- Troubleshoot protocol-level issues using Linux-based tools (tcpdump, Zeek, Wireshark).
- Develop and maintain command-line scripts and automation tools using Bash, Go, or Python.
- Apply and validate DISA STIG configurations across systems and network devices.
- Support incident response investigations and forensic data collection.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to enhance network security posture.
- Maintain documentation in accordance with DoW and program compliance requirements.
Requirements
- Active SECRET security clearance (TS/SCI preferred).
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong experience installing and configuring network taps and SPAN/mirror ports.
- Hands-on experience with packet capture infrastructure supporting IDS/IPS systems.
- Advanced experience with Linux command-line tools (tcpdump, Zeek, Wireshark).
- Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Go, Python).
- Experience performing network protocol analysis and troubleshooting.
- Experience applying and validating DISA STIGs.
- Ability to work onsite in secure DoW environments.
- Ability and willingness to travel as required to support mission needs.
Preferred Skills and Certifications
- TS/SCI clearance.
- Experience supporting DoW enterprise or tactical network environments.
- Familiarity with SIEM platforms and log aggregation tools.
- Knowledge of network architecture design and segmentation strategies.
- Security certifications such as Security+, CySA+, CISSP, GCIA, or CEH.
- Experience supporting RMF accreditation processes.
Pay: $175,000.00 - $220,000.00 per year
License/Certification:
- Secret Security Clearance (Required)
