Job description
Provide individualized behavioral therapy to patients and education and support services to families to assist them in understanding, accepting and adhering to recommendations of the psychiatric health care team. Implement the treatment plan and assist in the milieu of the unit to create a therapeutic environment.
Requirements
Must have knowledge of behavioral therapy principles and practices and understanding of community mental health practices. Excellent psychosocial intervention skills required. Knowledge of health resources within the mental health community required. Knowledge of crisis prevention techniques required. Basic computer skills required. Credentials with Equivalent Qualifications: Essential:
- Licensed Professional Counselor or any of the following equivalent qualifications below:
- Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Education with Equivalent Qualifications: Essential:
- Masters Degree in Counseling
Experience with Equivalent Qualifications: Essential:
- 2 Years job experience as Staff Level with specialization in the field of Behavioral Counseling

Each patient would treat the PHP like a typical school day, attending for 6 hours each day Monday - Friday. The average length of stay is 2 - 4 weeks, but is ultimately based upon symptom severity and patient progress.
