Job description
- Collaborate with both West Monroe consultants and client leadership to architect, build, and deploy secure cloud & IT infrastructure solutions that improve business operations
- Assess current state processes and IT environments, interview stakeholders, gather/define requirements, and recommend viable solutions and strategies
- Establish and enforce cloud architecture standards, best practices, and governance to ensure secure, compliant, and consistent solutions.
- Develop solution architecture designs for Cloud landing zone(s) and deployment of client workloads on the designed landing zone(s)
- Develop migration plans and strategies to optimize or enhance cloud services, cloud-based applications, IT systems, networking capabilities, and/or cybersecurity posture
- Support analysis for key decisions regarding project direction including cloud service selections, team workstreams, and methodology
- Lead implementation of Infrastructure as Code, automated deployments, and cloud cost optimization to drive operational efficiency and scalability.
- Support business development by assisting with proposals, pre-sales technical discovery, and client presentations.
- Act as career advisor/mentor and coach junior consultants on cloud computing technical best practices, professional development, and client engagement
- Contribute to practice development and Center of Excellence meetings, sharing insights and feedback to improve methodologies and tools
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis, synthesize complex information, and support data-driven recommendations for clients, exercising sound judgment in evaluating outputs.
- Apply AI technologies (e.g., generative AI, automation tools, data models) to enhance insights, improve delivery efficiency, and elevate the quality of client outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred, or equivalent experience required
- Consulting firm/industry experience preferred
- 5-10+ years of experience in an IT architecture/engineering role covering areas like cloud computing (required), Windows/Linux, servers, virtualization, or networking
- Experience leading AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform 'on-prem to cloud' migration projects
- Proficient with Infra-as-Code tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, and/or ARM templates
- Proficient with DevOps tools and practices for automated build, test, deployment, and monitoring within cloud environments.
- Confident communication, presentation, and team leadership skills
- Willingness to travel for client engagements
- Bonus: Compliance standards (NIST, HIPAA, ISO, PCI), scripting (Python, PowerShell), , Microsoft 365, DevSecOps, Professional level cloud certifications
- Experience integrating AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) into day-to-day workflows to enhance productivity and insight generation, coupled with strong critical thinking to assess accuracy, mitigate bias, and ensure high-quality outputs.

Based on pay transparency guidelines, the salary range for this role can vary based on your proximity to one of our West Monroe offices (see table below). Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity.
