Job description
- Contractor performs engineering management tasks and coordinates with AFLCMC organizations and external agencies to maintain uninterrupted operations.
- Contractor supports acquisition, development, and sustainment of weapon systems, subsystems, and support equipment.
- Contractor provides technical assistance to Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) regarding Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E).
- Contractor reviews Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Requests for Variance (RFVs), and maintains system configuration baselines.
- Contractor participates in Technology Insertion discussions, Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), and technical/programmatic reviews.
- Contractor assists with failure analysis and develops cost-effective solutions to improve reliability, maintainability, and availability.
- Contractor supports lifecycle activities including alternatives analysis, investment strategies, manufacturing, sustainment, and end-of-life processes.
- Contractor applies DoD and Air Force engineering principles to improve manufacturing, operations, re-manufacturing, and demilitarization efforts.
- Contractor translates user requirements into system requirements and supports development of system architectures and interoperability requirements.
- Contractor reviews proposals, specifications, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and supports IPT meetings, reviews, audits, and In-Process Reviews (IPRs).
- Contractor assists with requirements development, technical analyses, trade studies, and development of system concepts and technology needs.
- Contractor supports system design reviews, mission evaluations, technical interchanges, and test readiness reviews.
- Contractor reviews and analyzes change proposals, specifications, CDRLs, and conducts systems analyses, configuration audits, and feasibility assessments.
- Contractor supports development and evaluation of Integrated Master Plans (IMPs), Integrated Master Schedules (IMSs), Systems Engineering Detail Schedules (SEDS), and engineering cost estimates.
- Contractor assists with systems and subsystem integration, testing, verification, and lifecycle risk, cost, and schedule tradeoff studies.
- Contractor interfaces with management, supports engineering boards and committees, and helps resolve technical program issues.
- Contractor evaluates technical data items such as specifications, drawings, plans, life-cycle cost estimates, SOWs, and reports.
- Contractor develops and evaluates engineering documents, risk assessments, test plans, briefings, and compliance documentation while supporting AFI 63-101 risk management processes.
- Contractor provides technical planning and support for training systems, technology assessments, engineering policy recommendations, source selections, and global bed-down planning.
- Contractor supports program protection, security documentation, systems engineering activities, airworthiness certification, risk management, database assessments, FRACAS reviews, BIT analysis, and defect report resolution.
Requirements
Education/Certifications/Experience/Skills:

Master's or Doctorate Degree in a related field and at least 20 years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, 12 years of which must be in the DoD

or Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 25 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 15 years of which must be in the DoD

or 30 years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the PWS labor category performance requirements, 20 years of which must be in the DoD.

Must possess and maintain a government security clearance at the Top Secret level.

Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft programs (including Excel, Word, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, and Project).

Must be able to perform all functional duties independently.

Must be able to transport self to various facility sites, as required. If using own motor vehicle, must possess a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
