Job description
We are seeking an Engineering Consultant with proven, hands-on experience designing and delivering integration solutions in production environments. The role is firmly implementation-focused and requires direct engagement with business teams to define the integration architecture and to deliver the first end-to-end integration alongside our Integration Partners.
You will collaborate closely with our business teams to design and implement integration solutions spanning ETL, middleware (code-based and no-code) and custom APIs. As the trusted technical counterpart, you will bring an in-depth understanding of the underlying systems, protocols and failure modes, grounded in direct delivery experience.
Your mission
- You will translate customer business needs into concrete, implementable integration architectures.
- You will design and deliver ETL and middleware solutions using iPaaS and low-code platforms.
- You will lead integration projects end-to-end, from kickoff through go-live and stabilization, including partner management and project governance.
- You will facilitate technical workshops to elicit and refine business requirements.
- You will evaluate and recommend build-versus-buy and code-versus-no-code options, supported by clear, data-driven rationale.
- You will identify risks early across data quality, performance, security and organizational dimensions, and propose effective mitigations.
Requirements
- You bring 3-5 years of hands-on engineering experience delivering integration, ETL or middleware projects in production environments.
- You have a demonstrable track record of integrations personally designed and delivered to production, ideally across multiple industries or technology stacks.
- You possess strong proficiency in established ETL tooling and in scripting languages.
- You command practical experience with REST and SOAP API's and the operational details that determine whether an integration performs reliably in production.
- You leverage a working knowledge of low-code and no-code integration platforms (e.g., LobsterData, MuleSoft, n8n, Node-RED, Logic Apps) and sound judgment on when to apply them.
- You have excellent communication skills in English; German is a strong plus.
- You have a consulting mindset characterised by structured thinking, the ability to navigate ambiguity, and the capacity to articulate trade-offs clearly to both engineering and business stakeholders.
- Cloud certifications (Azure, AWS or GCP) and exposure to event-driven architectures and message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Service Bus) are a welcome plus.
