Job description

  • Support the GIS element of major projects in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Support projects in Spain and other regions when required (i.e., good communication skills, as well as fluency in English).
  • Perform multiple tasks concurrently within strict timeframes, scope/budget/schedule expectations, and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
  • Actively interact with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Implementation of GIS Standards and best practices.
  • Provide support on spatial data management.
  • Design and manage geodatabases.
  • Carry out geoprocessing/analysis tasks.
  • Produce maps/drawings, as well as support web GIS (AGOL/ArcGIS Enterprise/apps), setting up map viewers, data collection applications & dashboards.
  • Developing and using Esri mobile apps such as Survey123 and Field Maps.
  • Take responsibility for the spatial data review process and the application of quality standards.
  • Potentially coordinate GIS work with other colleagues.
  • Actively support developing digital tools applied to environmental and engineering services.
  • Ability and flexibility to work across a range of services and sectors, including transportation, buildings and places, oil & gas, energy (including renewables), and manufacturing.
  • You should be innovative and creative with strong interpersonal communication skills and be comfortable working independently as well as in an interdisciplinary, multicultural team.

Requirements

You will need to establish strong relationships with internal Project Managers and technical leads to maximize the benefit that geospatial technology can bring to project delivery. To succeed in your duties, you are expected to have excellent skills in data management, figure production, spatial analysis, mobile data collection, and the use of GIS tools, including web map applications. Further, the ability to work with CAD and to understand BIM/GIS interfaces, as well as basic programming skills, will be valued. Additionally, an environmental background will also be a "plus"., * A Bachelor's or master's degree in GIS/Geospatial services, Computer Science , or a related technical field with emphasis on geographic information systems (GIS).

  • A bachelor's Degree in a relevant environmental discipline is a strong advantage.
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a GIS Technician .
  • A high English level is required (spoken and written).
  • Full professional competence in GIS, including the following:
  • Compile geographic information from public data sources.
  • Develop and maintain databases, reports, and mapping.
  • Create, organize, manipulate, and retrieve GIS data for reporting, analysis, and presentation purposes.
  • Perform quality assurance of GIS data and associated graphic components.
  • Knowledge of various data types such as CAD, GPS, LiDAR, and flat-file databases, and the ability to convert and work with them in a GIS environment.
  • Conduct spatial analysis and spatial operations.
  • Ability to work with ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online/Enterprise Portal.
  • Independently executes and delivers GIS projects of moderate to significant scope and complexity.
  • Some experience in digital tools applied to environmental and/or engineering services will be a plus.

Not essential but desirable

  • Database knowledge (e.g., ArcGIS for Server, EQuIS, MS Access, SQL Server).
  • Prior experience with web-based GIS services (e.g., Geocortex, CARTO, Mapbox, QGIS Cloud, Instamaps, etc.) and other open-source GIS Solutions/datasets.
  • Ability to work with CAD and to understand BIM/GIS interfaces, as well as basic programming skills, will be valued.
  • Additional experience in the following areas will be a strong advantage:
  • Software development experience with using Esri products, preferably ArcGIS REST API, ArcGIS API for JavaScript, and Portal for ArcGIS.
  • Experience in the use of ModelBuilder, ArcPy, and geoprocessing tools, as well as developing scripts in Visual Basic, Python, and/or JavaScript to automate tasks, would be desirable, but not essential.
  • Mobile app development.
  • Engineering or CAD/BIM-related software.
  • Knowledge in applying SQL statements for data manipulations.
  • Knowledge of using FME Desktop to translate, transform, and integrate data.
  • Processing photogrammetry or point cloud data.
