Java Data Platform Engineer

The business is transitioning from pilots into a production-grade data platform, scaling its ingestion volume rapidly year on year.

This role focuses on shaping and operating the streaming backbone, backend services, and cloud infrastructure that power these insights.Key skills and experience required- Commercial experience building backend systems in Java- Strong background working with high-volume event streams and messaging platforms (Kafka or similar)- Experience designing and running data-heavy, distributed architectures in the cloud- Hands-on work with container platforms and infrastructure automation (Kubernetes, Terraform or equivalent)- Solid SQL capability with experience tuning and operating relational databases at scale (PostgreSQL preferred)- Exposure to DevOps workflows such as CI/CD, monitoring, alerting, and incident handling- Comfortable collaborating with data science, product, and customer-facing teams- Bonus points for Python usage and handling time-series or sensor dataHow to applyIf this role is of interest, please send an up to date CV to ****** Recruitment is acting as an Employment Business in
