Job description
The business function Development & Engineering (D&E) is responsible for the specification, design, and integration of the client's machines. Within D&E, the Machine Conditioning (MC) cluster is specialized in flow and thermal domains. The MC Operational Capability Development (OCD) Competence Center is responsible to deliver and maintain design automation tools. OCD contains four technical competences: Fluid Lay-out and Infrastructure Design, High Pressure Systems, Dangerous Gasses and MC Pre-install.
Job mission Our mission is to increase efficiency and effectiveness in Machine Conditioning departments. We do this by driving commonality and error free designs within the MC cluster as technical competences and design automation projects.
This team has multiple disciplines and consists of IT and Electrical Engineers. They need an up-to-date design environment, including many customization scripts, Java applications that are running via API's in the design application.
Responsibilities
Explain software concepts/ideas to people without software backgrounds
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
Create and maintain a complete overview of the complex domain, which is subject to constant changes
Communicate your findings to peers in the solution team
You will work with Capital software from Siemens
building new functionality by means of Java
focus on technical connection with different SW tools, like Team Center, NX, PDF generation
Requirements
Do you have experience in vSphere?, Must have
Education background in Computer Science / Software Engineering
Strong Java programming skills
Experience with CI/CD pipelines as code
Linux expertise (scripting and CLI)
Understanding of Docker and Kubernetes basics
Knowledge of testing frameworks (unit/E2E)
Nice to have
Python scripting for minor pipeline tasks
TypeScript/Cypress/Playwright for E2E tests
Go for internal tooling
Familiarity with Azure, vSphere, Terraform, Ansible
Ownership and system thinking
Analytical and creative problem-solving
Communication and collaboration across multiple teams
Curiosity and ability to learn platform/business logic
Mentorship and guidance for other engineers
