Job description
Overview We are seeking a Systems Administrator to support the reliability, availability, and day-to-day operation of IT and network infrastructure within a campus environment. This role is critical to maintaining systems that support automation, control systems, and manufacturing operations. You will work closely with technical teams to troubleshoot issues, maintain infrastructure, and ensure system uptime. This position is focused on system support, sustainment, and troubleshooting rather than large-scale implementations or new system design. Top Required Skills

- Cisco networking (switching, routing, VLANs), * Perform routine system administration to support high availability of IT systems
- Monitor system health and respond to incidents to minimize downtime
- Troubleshoot IT and network issues affecting control and automation systems
- Maintain on-premises infrastructure, including servers, virtual machines, storage, and networking equipment
- Perform system patching, updates, and maintenance in accordance with approved procedures
- Assist in diagnosing communication issues across networks and connected devices
- Support identity and access management processes
- Maintain documentation, including system configurations and network diagrams
- Escalate complex issues and communicate status updates clearly to stakeholders
- Support data backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes
- Follow cybersecurity and system hardening best practices
Requirements
- Experience with Cisco networking (basic diagnostics, routing/switching concepts)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory (user/group management, authentication)
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms (e.g., Proxmox or similar)
- Experience administering Linux systems (services, logs, troubleshooting)
- Background in supporting systems in industrial, manufacturing, or regulated environments
- Understanding of cybersecurity practices or network segmentation in operational environments, * High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-4+ years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or infrastructure support
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in English

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Fort Worth, TX. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
