UT is searching for a SYSTEMS ENGINEER III, located in Northern Virginia, though Remote may be acceptable based on skill sets and willingness to travel. This role would be responsible for mainly supporting customers in the Northern Virginia area, with frequent support requiring on-site work. This role will primarily support government customers, with commercial support also being required as needed., Working in the Engineering department, the Senior Systems Engineer will interface with UT internal resources to support the essential job duties listed below. These duties will be fulfilled by interacting with the UT Business Development, Operations, and Engineering departments, as assigned, for security system design and implementation as well as various other support tasks. The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating internal resources to drive completion of projects. This position reports to the Systems Engineering Manager., * Work closely with engineering and operations resources to prepare, implement, and complete final closeout on assigned projects.
- Work with the Project Managers to coordinate and communicate project status regularly.
- Manage assigned installation and service tickets.
- Work on projects of varying scale and complexity, therefore time management is critical as well as the ability to shift gears between projects when needed to support and execute engineering tasks efficiently.
- Supporting various customers throughout the country, with a focus on customers located in the Northern Virginia area, however support may roll over into outside the area on an as-needed basis, meaning being flexible with supporting various time zones PST-EST, primarily. Some high security customers do not allow remote access, traveling to various sites for commissioning on a scheduled basis is a requirement.
- This job will require about 50% travel time for supporting various projects. Travel is primarily local to the Northern Virginia area, however overnight travel is expected but only about 20% of the time.
- Programming of various supported systems, including but not limited to the following.
- Genetec, Software House, Lenel, Gallagher, Milestone, Avigilon, Commend, Feenics, AMAG, etc.
- Experience with configuring networks, Cisco and HP CLI interface commands. VLAN configuration, static routing is all a must.
- Experience with Firewall configuration, Cisco, Juniper.
- Experience with government systems, including PIV and CIV cards, FICAM, HSPD-12, FIPS 201-2 standards is a plus.
Requirements

5+ years' technical experience in Access Control, Video Surveillance and Network Design.

Experience in security system design for healthcare, government, K-12. higher education environments and large enterprise systems.

Experience with one or more of the followings software platforms is required:
-
Genetec, Software House, Lenel, Gallagher, Milestone, Feenics, AMAG.
Experience with Windows Server configuration.
Experience with server, workstation troubleshooting, PC peripherals, etc.
Experience with network switch configuration, VLANs, etc. Cisco and HP preferred.
A bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience (4+ years) with a technical focus.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (i.e. Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.).
Team oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Hands-on experience with one or more of the security manufacturers noted above.
