Job description

  • Design, configure, and certify enterprise voice and video solutions aligned to business goals.
  • Develop high- and low-level designs and standards for Cisco UC, SIP trunking, and session management.
  • Lead delivery of complex platform upgrades on time and on budget, including change and risk evaluation.
  • Provide L3 support for visible production issues and ensure successful transition to operations.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, SOPs, blueprints, and certification results.
  • Interface with vendors and internal partners to drive roadmap and standards compliance.
  • Assess emerging technologies and align solutions with multiyear architecture roadmaps.

Requirements

We are seeking a Network / System Engineer III to join our dynamic team and lead an enterprise Telephony Platform Upgrade. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in voice infrastructure, VoIP, unified communications, and large-scale enterprise networking and a proven ability to design, certify, and deliver complex voice and video collaboration solutions., * BS/BA in Engineering or Computer Science.

  • 10+ years in Voice and Collaboration for large enterprises. Financial industry experience preferred.
  • Expertise in voice technologies: SIP trunking and interworking, VoIP protocols (H.323/SIP), IP PBX, session management.
  • Hands-on with SBCs and platforms such as Genesys and Cisco UC and collaboration suites.
  • Strong LAN/WAN knowledge: wired/wireless, data center, load balancing, hypervisors, Fibre Channel, IP/MPLS, SONET/SDH, DWDM, IP Multicast, QoS.
  • Experience with routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, and WAN optimization. Juniper, Aruba, Arista, Cisco, and SonRibbon exposure is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret technology updates for applicability in complex environments. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience automating and scripting for configuration reconciliation and process efficiency.
  • Knowledge of virtualization across on prem, public, private, and hybrid cloud models.

Technical Skills:

  • Large-scale Cisco Collaboration: CUCM, Unity Connection, Jabber, Webex, Webex Teams, MRA, Expressway, TelePresence, CMS, TMS, DX/SX/IX endpoints, Spark/Spark Boards.
  • VMware vSphere with ESXi and vCenter.
  • Protocols and media: SRTP, RTP, Opus, SCCP, SIP and SIP interworking.
  • Call routing in complex environments: QSIG, MGoogle Cloud Platform, CAC, H.323, SIP.
  • TDM, VoIP, call control, and next-gen networks using APIs, WebRTC, HTML5.
  • Session management with Avaya Aura, Cisco SME, Acme, Asterisk, SonRibbon.
  • SIP and ISDN/PRI trunking, carrier integration, RFC standards adherence.
  • SonRibbon gateway configuration/integration (2K, 5K, 7K, 9K).
  • L2 VLANs and routing protocols: BGP, IS-IS, OSPF.
  • QoS standards and best practices for real-time media. E911 on Cisco and West/Intrado.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience as an enterprise network and voice architect in regulated environments.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and program execution skills.
