Kaimetrix is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to support Test and Evaluation (T&E) activities for U.S. Government acquisition programs. This role focuses on planning, executing, and evaluating system tests across hardware, software, network, and virtualized environments, ensuring systems meet operational requirements and mission needs. The position supports intelligence and multi-domain mission environments, including classified systems.
What you'll do
Plan, execute, and evaluate tests for hardware and software systems against defined specifications Support Test and Evaluation (T&E) activities for U.S. Government acquisition programs Develop, customize, and implement T&E strategies, Master Test Plans, System Evaluation Plans, and test reports Review and evaluate test plans for applicability, completeness, and effectiveness Design test data collection and analysis structures to support evaluative conclusions Collect, verify, validate, and analyze test data across multiple environments Define test scope, infrastructure, resources, and data sample sizes to ensure requirements are adequately demonstrated Design and execute automated testing, including creation of automated testing harnesses Perform Agile testing and support test automation using Python Configure and operate simulated and virtualized computing environments Support testing in cloud, on-premises, and hybrid deployment models Identify and define T&E infrastructure requirements, including personnel, ranges, tools, and instrumentation Configure and test wired and wireless networking devices in laboratory and test environments Apply network security architecture concepts, including defense-in-depth principles Utilize COTS and FOSS security tools such as Suricata and Snort during testing Translate test data and results into clear, professional, and technical evaluative reports Support testing activities in classified environments
Requirements
Minimum of five (5) years of experience executing system tests for hardware and/or software systems Experience supporting Test and Evaluation for U.S. Government acquisition programs Experience developing T&E strategies, test plans, and system evaluation reports Five (5) years of experience collecting, verifying, and validating test data Minimum of three (3) years of experience in virtualization and creating simulated or virtual computing environments Knowledge of network security architecture concepts, protocols, and topologies Experience configuring and testing wired and wireless networking devices Knowledge of cloud computing deployment models (private, public, and hybrid) and on-premises vs. off-premises environments Minimum of two (2) years of experience using Python Minimum of two (2) years of experience using Linux Strong professional and technical writing skills, with the ability to translate test results into evaluative conclusions Bachelor's degree required; STEM degree preferred Current DoD Baseline Certification at IAT Level II required Active DoD TS/SCI CI Poly clearance Preferred Qualifications Ten (10) years of overall testing experience, including use of automated testing frameworks Familiarity with INSCOM, Multi-Domain Operations, and CEEC capabilities Experience with Agile testing methodologies and automated test harness development Experience using Python specifically for test automation Experience configuring and administering Linux systems Experience with vSphere Experience using COTS and FOSS security tools (e.g., Suricata, Snort) Vendor networking certifications (e.g., Cisco, Juniper) DAWIA Test and Evaluation Practitioner Certification or equivalent DoD Baseline Certification at IAT Level III
