Job description
- Contribute to the modernization of legacy Linux-based systems into Red Hat OpenShift and containerized platform environments
- Support systems integration, platform engineering, and infrastructure modernization activities
- Develop and maintain automation workflows using configuration management tools such as Puppet and Ansible
- Support CI/CD integration and automated deployment workflows for enterprise platform environments
- Assist with deployment, integration, and sustainment of Kubernetes/OpenShift clusters within secure and air-gapped environments
- Support application containerization, image management, and software deployment processes
- Diagnose and resolve application and system issues across Linux and containerized environments
- Support Linux platform engineering and administration activities including configuration baselines, security hardening, and system optimization
- Participate in lifecycle engineering activities including upgrades, patching, and platform maintenance operations
- Maintain technical documentation, engineering diagrams, operational procedures, and system architecture artifacts
Requirements
We are seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer to support the modernization, integration, and sustainment of secure Linux-based enterprise platforms. This role contributes to systems engineering efforts focused on platform modernization, automation, containerization, and infrastructure integration within mission-critical environments. The ideal candidate possesses strong Linux platform experience and an interest in engineering scalable, automated solutions supporting complex enterprise systems., Required:
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field; equivalent experience may be considered
- Minimum 5 years of experience in systems engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, or related infrastructure engineering disciplines
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE or higher)
- Strong experience engineering and operating enterprise Linux platforms (RHEL preferred)
- Experience with configuration management and automation tools such as Puppet and Ansible
- Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines, automated deployment workflows, or software integration processes
- Familiarity with containerized platforms, Kubernetes concepts, and image management processes
Desired:
- Experience engineering, deploying, or operating Kubernetes or Red Hat OpenShift environments
- Experience supporting OpenShift within secure or air-gapped environments
- Familiarity with RPM packaging and software deployment workflows
- Experience supporting enterprise Linux platform modernization initiatives
- Additional experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet)
- Experience participating in Agile engineering teams

The proposed salary range for this position is
$94,400 - $198,200
