Job description

Insight Global is seeking a qualified Network Engineer in support of one of our large federal clients in Norfolk, VA. This candidate will be supporting mission-critical network operations onboard a hospital ship, ensuring optimal performance of network infrastructure in highly dynamic, real-world environments. Their day to day will include but is not limited to supporting and troubleshooting network systems, managing connectivity and security, and enabling medical and operational systems to function effectively. A qualified candidate will have experience with enterprise networking, healthcare IT environments, and secure, high-availability systems.

  • Supporting shipboard network operations across multiple secured enclaves
  • Configuring and troubleshooting Cisco networking, firewalls, and wireless systems
  • Managing SATCOM connectivity and medical device network integrations
  • Supporting Windows Server, Linux systems, and end-user environments
  • Ensuring cybersecurity compliance and supporting security initiatives
  • Providing mission-critical IT support in high-pressure operational environments

Requirements

Active DoD Secret Clearance (must be eligible for TS; Active TS preferred)

  • 10+ years of experience in Enterprise Network IT environments (can accept a Bach and 6 years of hands-on networking experience)

  • 2+ years of experience supporting Healthcare Informatics systems

  • DoD IAT II or III Certification

  • CCNA or CCNP

  • Experience with Cisco campus, wireless, voice, and storage networking, Network security fundamentals

  • Ability to deploy on short notice and work in austere environments SATCOM fundamentals

Benefits & conditions

Compensation: $50.48/hr - $57.69/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
