Job description
Lam Research is seeking an Automation Architect to join the Enterprise Security organization, supporting both the Identity and Information Security teams. This role is responsible for designing and enabling secure, scalable automation that improves identity lifecycle management, security operations, and compliance while reducing manual effort and operational risk.
The Automation Architect will work closely with security engineers, IAM teams, IT partners, and business stakeholders to integrate automation across identity platforms, security tooling, and enterprise systems, including the application of artificial intelligence where appropriate. What you'll do
Security & Identity Automation Architecture
- Design and maintain automation architectures supporting identity, access, and security processes across the enterprise.
- Develop secure, scalable automation patterns aligned with Enterprise Security and Zero Trust objectives.
- Define standards, reference architectures, and guardrails for automation used by Identity and Information Security teams.
Identity & Access Enablement
- Support automation of identity lifecycle processes, including joiner, mover, and leaver workflows.
- Enable automated integrations between identity platforms and enterprise systems such as Azure Identity, Active Directory, HR systems, and downstream applications.
- Improve reliability, auditability, and timeliness of access provisioning and deprovisioning.
Security Operations & Tooling Integration
- Integrate automation with enterprise security tools to improve detection, response, reporting, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure security controls such as authentication, authorization, logging, and monitoring are embedded by design.
- Support Information Security initiatives through workflow orchestration and data-driven automation.
Artificial Intelligence & Advanced Automation
- Evaluate and apply artificial intelligence and intelligent automation to enhance security and identity use cases, such as decision support, correlation, and exception handling.
- Ensure responsible and secure use of AI technologies in alignment with Lam security and governance requirements.
Collaboration, Governance & Enablement
- Partner with Identity, Information Security, IT, and business teams to deliver automation solutions aligned with enterprise priorities.
- Contribute to automation governance, including lifecycle management, reuse, and technical standards.
- Provide technical guidance and architectural oversight for automation initiatives within Enterprise Security.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of experience in automation, systems engineering, security engineering, or enterprise architecture.
- Experience designing and delivering automation in complex enterprise environments.
- Demonstrated experience transforming business process into AI enabled workflows
Preferred qualifications
- Strong understanding of Identity and Access Management and Information Security concepts.
- Experience working with Azure Identity, Active Directory, and HRdriven identity sources such as SuccessFactors.
- Experience integrating and automating workflows across security tooling and enterprise platforms.
- Familiarity with APIs, event-driven architectures, and orchestration frameworks.
- Exposure to AI-enabled automation or intelligent decision systems in security or identity domains.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical designs to diverse audiences.
Benefits & conditions
Salary Range for this position: $155,000.00 - $287,000.00.
The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside in California and most states. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
