Job description

As the Emergency Call Handling (ECH) Federal Solution Architect, you will serve as the Design Authority for complex ECH system implementations, ensuring technical integrity and operational excellence across all project phases. You will be accountable for the detailed operational design of the system, encompassing everything from equipment selection and call flow architecture to network configuration.

This role is critical in integrating a comprehensive suite of products, including applications, directory services, IP/telephony networking, security solutions, servers, and storage across diverse hardware and virtualization platforms. You will collaborate closely with Project Managers, Sales Engineers, Channel Partners, and customers, providing expert consultation and strategic guidance to enable high-quality Emergency Call Handling deployments.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary Design Authority, ensuring the overall technical integrity and stability of the deployed ECH solution.
  • Lead detailed Operational Call Flow Design meetings with project teams and customers, both on-site and remotely.
  • Conduct detailed Call Flow design based on customer requirements, assessing benefits and risks of proposed solutions.
  • Develop and manage critical project documentation, including the Detailed Post Sales Design document (VESTA).
  • Gather and validate all technical requirements essential for successful project deployment.
  • Perform site walks (remote or onsite) to confirm solution requirements and evaluate the installation environment.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and customer to coordinate necessary meetings and resources.
  • Support the System Staging team.
  • Participate in, approve, and execute Methods of Procedure (MOPs).
  • Ensure the successful cutover and final deployment of Motorola ECH solutions.
  • Collaborate with technical support and product teams to analyze and resolve system defects during deployment and maintenance phases.
  • Provide collaboration and technical oversight for all other resources supporting the project.
  • Provide technical support and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Proactively maintain and enhance subject matter expertise across the ECH portfolio.

Requirements

  • Expertise in the deployment and integration of complex IP and TDM telephony products and systems.
  • Expert knowledge of PBX and telco analog, digital, and SIP-based technologies.
  • Strong expertise in TCP/IP networking, including working knowledge of IP subnetting, switching, and routing.
  • Ability to manage the implementation and integration of digital voice and data communication networks.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and processes, including NIST/DoD RMF, NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, and the Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) process.
  • Proven experience leading complex projects as a consultative representative.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex designs and technologies for a non-technical audience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively communicate with cross-functional regional management, peers, and senior stakeholders, including the customer.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills to navigate difficult or emotional customer situations.
  • Previous experience in Public Safety Applications (PSAP environment), including deployment, integration, implementation, or operations/administration preferred.
  • Deep proficiency with the VESTA 9-1-1 Call Handling Suite preferred.
  • Familiarity with Cisco networking hardware, including basic setup and troubleshooting of routers and switches preferred.
  • Familiarity with Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems preferred., * 5+ years of technical or engineering experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer.
