Requirements

ADNET Systems, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer / Research Scientist to support development of the SlideRule just-in-time science processing system at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). This position will support ongoing development of cloud-based science processing capabilities for the ICESat-2 and Global Ecosystem Dynamics Investigation (GEDI) science communities.

The selected candidate will support development of advanced data coregistration capabilities that combine multiple Earth science datasets into unified analysis-ready products. Specifically, this work will focus on development of a cloud-based system capable of accepting a user-defined geographic area of interest and generating co-registered data cubes containing ICESat-2 photon cloud data, GEDI waveform data, and Sentinel-2 visible imagery.

This position requires experience in cloud-native software development, Earth science data systems, and scalable geospatial processing architectures., * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Earth Science, Remote Sensing, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related technical discipline, * Experience with software development life-cycle methodologies and collaborative software development practices

  • Strong Linux system experience
  • Proficiency in Python software development
  • Experience developing applications or services within Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environments
  • Experience with web application development
  • Familiarity with ICESat-2 standard data products and associated geospatial workflows
  • Knowledge of gridding, geospatial alignment, and co-registration techniques
  • Experience working with large scientific datasets and distributed processing systems
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative scientific software development environment
  • U.S. Citizenship Required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Tier 1 Investigation through NASA.
