Raytheon's Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Surface Radars & Sensors Center is seeking Senior Systems Engineers with experience or strong interest in Naval Radar engineering. The Portsmouth, RI team supports programs across the naval undersea and surface domains, including sensor systems, mine countermeasures, submarines, torpedoes, combat systems, and ship architecture and integration. This position involves regular collaboration across engineering disciplines to identify issues, implement technical solutions, and support integration and test activities. Engineers will gain broad exposure to system components and interfaces and contribute directly to ensuring radar system functionality and performance. Engineers will perform radar data analysis and tracking, develop and manage system requirements, integrate hardware and software, create test plans and procedures, evaluate system functions and interfaces, and verify requirements in support of system sell-off.
What You Will Do
- Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and integration/verification documentation in both simulated and operational environments
- Perform system requirements analysis, develop and manage requirements, and ensure traceability throughout integration and test activities
- Analyze and resolve hardware, software, and system issues through detailed data review and debugging
- Integrate hardware and software components into tactical systems and assess overall system functionality and performance
- Collaborate across teams to address system-level issues and implement technical improvements
- Work with multidisciplinary engineering teams to achieve effective system integration and functional maturity
- Produce integration documentation, execute and analyze tests, verify requirements, and clearly communicate results to leadership and stakeholders
- Support customer events with domestic travel up to approximately 20%
Requirements
Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date, * Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience
- Experience with MATLAB, Python, and/or other programing languages
- Experience with radar data and/or analysis tools
- Experience with system integration (e.g. AAW, BMD, etc.)
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with DOORS, Rhapsody, Cameo, or other digital engineering tools
- Experience developing requirements, test procedures and reports, and/or analysis of complex systems
- Experience working in integration labs, test facilities, or field environments
- Experience diagnosing root causes of system failures, implementing corrective actions, and developing preventative measures
- Experience presenting technical analyses, findings, and recommendations to leadership and customers
Benefits & conditions
The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
