Job description
The Data Center Manager is responsible for the overall operation, availability, security, and efficiency of one or more data center facilities. This role oversees infrastructure, capacity planning, vendor management, and operational processes to ensure reliable delivery of IT services while meeting business, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the data center, including power, cooling, space, cabling, and physical security
- Ensure high availability and reliability of data center infrastructure (servers, storage, networking, and facilities systems)
- Lead capacity planning for space, power, and cooling to support current and future business needs
- Develop and maintain operational procedures, standards, and documentation
- Coordinate and oversee hardware installations, decommissions, and migrations
- Manage relationships with vendors, colocation providers, and service partners
- Monitor and respond to incidents, outages, and escalations, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions are completed
- Ensure compliance with security, safety, regulatory, and audit requirements (e.g., ISO, SOC, NIST, or internal controls)
- Develop and manage budgets related to data center operations and capital expenditures
- Lead, mentor, and manage data center staff and/or onsite contractors
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning and testing

- Strong knowledge of data center power, cooling, and physical infrastructure
- Experience with capacity planning, change management, and incident management
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and best practices
- Strong vendor management and contract oversight experience

Your actual compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately. The pay or salary range will not be below any applicable state, city or local minimum wage requirement.
There is a different applicable compensation range for the following work locations:
California (San Francisco Bay Area):$120,120 to $228,000
California (All Other):$110,040 to $209,040
Colorado: $100,080 to $190,080
Massachusetts$100,080 to $209,040, This position will be eligible for Kyndryl's discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl's applicable plans. You may also receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave, and paid time off. Note: If this is a sales commission eligible role, you will be eligible to participate in a sales commission plan in lieu of the annual discretionary bonus program.
