Job description
As Senior ETL Data (IT) Analyst in Data Integration Platform organization at Honeywell, you will have opportunity to lead and work with large footprint of various data integration technologies and make a difference by establishing a solid foundation for innovation, performance, reliability, and scalability working on on-prem and public cloud solutions leveraging multiple data integration technologies.
You will lead the Informatica platform and application development, architecture, and operations that are responsible for setting the strategy and delivering a scalable and reliable data platform that supports Honeywell's Digital Platform and Applications. Additionally, you will also participate and provide your guidance for the design and implementation of ETL mappings, governance of production jobs in global high availability and fast paced high-performance environments. You will be responsible to maintain various data models across all applications, design new solutions at the cutting edge of data technology and will deliver large scale systems that will have an impact on revenue growth.
You will report directly to our Sr. Director, IT and you'll work out of our Phoenix, AZ or Charlotte, NC locations on a Hybrid work schedule.
Hybrid Work Schedule Note: For the first 90 days, New Hires must be prepared to work 100% onsite M-F, * Lead and contribute to Informatica PowerCenter modernization initiatives, including migration to cloud-based ETL platforms (IDMC/IICS, Azure, AWS).
- Own end-to-end management of data integration application interfaces across both production and non-production environments.
- Lead requirements discussions with business stakeholders and translate business needs into scalable, efficient ETL solutions.
- Design, develop, and maintain functional ETL routines ensuring enforcement of business rules and consistent data definitions.
- Build Informatica mappings using transformations such as Lookup, Joiner, Router, Aggregator, Normalizer, Union, and Update Strategy.
- Perform performance tuning, debugging, and optimization, leveraging Informatica and Oracle partitioning, staging tables, and pushdown optimization techniques.
- Develop and maintain SQL, PL/SQL, and UNIX Shell scripts to implement business logic and data transformations.
- Work on data loads to and from Flat Files, Oracle, MS SQL Server, SAP HANA, Salesforce, and Teradata sources and targets.
- Utilize Teradata utilities (FLOAD, MLOAD, EXPORT) for high-volume data processing.
Data Quality & Governance
- Lead Informatica Data Quality (IDQ) initiatives including data profiling, rule definition, and scorecards across multiple projects.
- Implement JSON data extraction using Informatica Data Processor transformations.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve data quality and integrity issues, assess business impact, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Collaborate with data architects, database analysts, and business users to resolve source data issues and support fact and dimension table creation.
Testing, Deployment & Production Support
- Own and lead unit and integration testing, including documentation and validation of results.
- Validate data migration results to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with requirements.
- Monitor production ETL jobs, analyze failures, and implement break-fixes and enhancements.
- Ensure successful deployment of fixes and enhancements to production environments.
- Provide on-call production support during weekends and off-hours on a rotational basis; demonstrate flexibility to support weekend shifts when required.
Operations & Incident Management
- Manage incident tickets and service requests, ensuring resolution within defined SLAs.
- Handle requests for minor enhancements and operational improvements.
- Automate recurring and day-to-day operational activities to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Coordinate with application administrators, system administrators, DBAs, and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Work with enterprise scheduling tools such as TIDAL and AutoSys.
Compliance, Risk & Controls
- Ensure ongoing compliance with SOX, PCI, GDPR, Export Compliance, and other regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate and enforce internal controls to mitigate operational and data risks.
- Apply sound judgment in technical and business decisions to safeguard Honeywell, its customers, and its assets while adhering to corporate policies and ethical standards.
Leadership & Enablement
- Contribute to data integration and infrastructure strategy efforts across multiple business domains.
- Lead and participate in knowledge-sharing sessions, technology discussions, and cross-platform training initiatives.
- Mentor team members and support continuous improvement across ETL, data quality, and performance optimization capabilities.
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with Informatica PowerCenter and IDMC/IICS ETL tools , with readiness to perform day-to-day hands-on development and support.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience working with Informatica PowerCenter (10.x/9.x) , Power Analyzer, IDQ (Informatica Developer), and relational databases including Oracle and MS SQL Server .
- Strong experience using SQL Developer, TOAD , and integrating with systems such as Salesforce .
- Minimum 3+ years of experience with enterprise job orchestration/scheduling tools such as Control-M or Redwood .
- Minimum 5+ years of overall IT experience with a strong background in data warehouse analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation .
- Strong understanding of ETL architecture and design principles , with proven ability to build efficient, scalable, and high-performance data integration solutions .
- Demonstrated analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills ., * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field , or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong understanding of the full data warehouse lifecycle , including requirements, design, build, test, deployment, and support.
- Experience designing Fact and Dimension tables , handling Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCDs) , and managing Surrogate Keys .
- Expertise designing complex Informatica mappings using transformations such as Lookup, Filter, Expression, Router, Joiner, Update Strategy, Aggregator, Sorter, Sequence Generator, Stored Procedures, XML, and HTTP transformations .
- Proven expertise in performance tuning of sources, mappings, targets, sessions, and overall ETL workflows.
- Strong experience with UNIX Shell scripting , SQL and PL/SQL , including stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, cursors, and database performance tuning.
- Ability to translate business logic and requirements into technical ETL solutions using complex transformation logic.
- Hands-on experience with data modeling tools such as Erwin .
- Experience working with JSON data loads , IDQ transformations, and familiarity with R programming is a plus.
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience with cloud data integration technologies (Azure, AWS, IDMC).
- Experience supporting on-prem to cloud data transformation and migration initiatives .
- Strong experience across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) , including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
