In this role, the individual will be part of the Software Test team conducting software/hardware integration testing and formal qualification test (FQT) of Aerial Refueling and Mission System Software with a focus on leadership, quality, process improvement, tool improvement and test automation.
We are seeking an individual that is passionate about aerospace and excited to work in a multi-disciplined, collaborative engineering environment that supports the design, development, and implementation of software for existing and emerging government and international programs.
The Boeing KC-46 "Pegasus" is the new US Air Force aerial refueling tanker aircraft designed to support multi-role missions including refueling, cargo/passenger transport, and medevac airlift. The KC-46 is a military commercial derivative aircraft based on the Boeing 767-2C aircraft and modified per US Air Force specifications for the primary mission of aerial refueling US and Allied aircraft. The KC-46 is equipped with self-protection, defensive and communication systems making it more survivable in a contested environment.
Position Responsibilities:
- Supports the design, development, and completion of test and verification of software products to ensure quality, reliability, and functionality.
- Participates in partnering with stakeholders to review and identify software requirements, test objectives, test strategies, and testability.
- Supports designing test plans, cases, and scenarios to meet software requirements and specifications.
- Contributes to the set up and configuration of test environments, including hardware, software, and network configurations to replicate production environments.
- Supports executing test cases and scenarios to verify functionality, performance, and safety of software systems, identifying and reporting defects, issues, and potential vulnerabilities found during testing processes.
- Contributes to providing test results and feedback on software design and functionality to resolve defects, issues, and potential vulnerabilities.
- Supports creating, documenting, and maintaining test plans, procedures, cases, artifacts, metrics, and data in accordance with data privacy and security protocols and standards.
- Supports developing and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks to improve efficiency and effectiveness of testing processes.
- Contributes to software project management functions across test and verification activities involving multifunctional teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering discipline or 4+ years equivalent related experience
- 2 or more years of experience designing and developing software test plans, test cases, and test procedures
- 2 or more years of experience executing software test procedures/cases
- Ability to obtain Final Post Start Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience in software development using languages such as C, C++, Java, or Ada
- Experience using team collaboration tools including GitLab, Bitbucket, JIRA, and Confluence
- Experience in software development processes in compliance with established internal and industry standards, guidelines, and best practices in the development, testing, and deployment of software
- Knowledge of verification, validation, certification and qualification processes and procedures, including knowledge of governing regulations and compliance requirements
- Knowledge of appropriate customer or governmental regulations relevant to design, test, and certification (e.g., DO-178B/C)
- Knowledge of how to derive and allocate requirements (e.g., system, sub-system, software) and show traceability throughout the product lifecycle
- Knowledge of the full software development life cycle (requirements, design, code, test and certification), This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee., Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Required, This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Summary pay range for Associate: $90,950 - $123,050
