Job description
Tests and implements viable solutions for various mobile device management environments. Collaborates with end users to understand challenges and develops distinctive and innovative mobile solutions. Plans and coordinates the configuration, implementation, and administration of Mobile Device Management (MDM) application server software. Configures security profiles, installs mobile applications, and supports deployments and platform maintenance. Participates in all technical aspects of consulting, architecting, building, and configuring MDM environments to manage client mobility solutions including all associated hardware, software, network, security, and enterprise back-end integration of solutions. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Designs and document MDM environments for new and existing customers.
- Determines hardware, software, and resource requirements to implement and upgrade MDM environments based on current and forecasted customer requirements.
- Develops and maintains change management processes for client environments.
- Serves as technical liaison to vendors for customer MDM environment support issues.
- Configures, implements, validates, installs, and supports the MDM application servers, mobile device profiles, security policies, and other MDM components.
- Uses the MDM to setup, configure, and update Apple and/or other District approved devices.
- Collaborates with technical teams to manage MDM environments.
- Ensures new operating systems are tested with various departments to prevent adverse impacts to learning tools.
- Monitors project and/or program progress and prepares periodic status reports, as requested.
- Provides technical support, assistance, and consultation to faculty, staff and/or consultants.
- Prepares and shares necessary information with cross-functional units for the successful implementation of mobile deployments.
- Assists with the research and evaluation of capabilities.
- Assists with organizing and executing District projects; collaborates with other District departments as needed to complete projects.
- Provides high-level support for issues considered critical.
- Creates new professional development training courses (manuals, presentations, handouts, quick reference guides, video tutorials, online classes, webinars, and so on) to aid end-users with skill enhancement and personal/professional development.
- Configures Apple DEP (Device Enrollment Program) and VPP (Volume Purchase Program).
- Configures Microsoft Auto Enrollment with Intune.
Safety
- Performs preventive maintenance on tools and equipment and ensures equipment is in safe operating condition.
- Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing; operates tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
- Corrects unsafe conditions in work area and promptly reports any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.

Requirements
- Knowledge of enterprise-level Mobile Device Management of industry standard Operating Systems (Google Android, Windows, and Apple iOS).
- Knowledge of "rugged" and "consumer" mobile computing technology, mobile device operating systems, MDM platforms in the enterprise and/or mobile device security.
- Knowledge of Powershell, Bash, sql scripting, and Javascript.
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software including Windows and Mac operating systems.
- Knowledge of computers, tablets, hand-held devices, and peripherals, and proper integration into a business process.
- Knowledge of mobile device management platform configuration best practices.
- Knowledge of mobile device application-level security.
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
- Knowledge of best practices for gathering, analyzing, and meeting business requirements.
- Knowledge of project management principles, including the ability to manage multiple projects of diverse scope and budget.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education, as well as District policies and procedures, and understand regulations as they relate to security.
- Skill in program planning, development, analysis and evaluation.
- Skill in interpersonal relations using tact, patience, and courtesy with technical and non-technical employees, as well as management staff.
- Skilled in troubleshooting basic wired/wireless connectivity issues.
- Skill in written and oral communications including interacting effectively with all levels of central office and campus staff, as well as public inquires.
- Skill in the use of technology and other digital platforms.
- Ability to develop and implementing change management processes in an enterprise environment to include customer software deployment, server design, buildout, upgrade, migration, and system integration.
- Ability to comprehend technical manuals, hardware manuals, procedural reference manuals and publications.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, work under pressure including with interruptions, and meet multiple deadlines; proactively resolves issues.
- Ability to setup monitoring tools and apply patches and updates as necessary.
- Ability to plan, schedule, and direct the operations of the mobile device management unit.
- Ability to articulate technical and management issues in a concise manner.
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in a high-pressure environment and a positive relationship with other team members and end-users.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends to meet project schedules or respond to system outages as needed.

Travel Requirements

- Accredited High School diploma, GED, or Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency required;
- Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university in a related field preferred.

- Experience: 2-6 years' experience supporting a mobile device management platform required. Approved combinations: Education Experience
