Job description
As part of the Industrialization team, the Senior Industrialization Engineer plays a key leadership role in defining and implementing advanced manufacturing and automation solutions for intraocular lenses and other medical devices. This position focuses on optimization of current manufacturing processes, ensuring seamless integration of new technologies while maintaining compliance with medical device regulations. Additionally, the role may involve mentoring junior engineers and overseeing project teams, contributing to the strategic development of automation initiatives., Automation of Manufacturing Processes:
- Lead complex industrialization projects to enhance key manufacturing processes, reducing manual interventions and improving consistency.
- Identify and implement robotic, digital, and advanced manufacturing technologies to optimize production efficiency.
- Develop technical specifications for new equipment and oversee supplier selection and validation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Production, QA, Regulatory) to define automation strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Drive standardization and best practices in automation across production lines.
Industrialization of New Processes:
- Oversee the development, validation, and industrialization of new (automated or manual) processes for medical devices.
- Ensure a smooth transfer of solutions from pilot phase to full-scale production.
- Manage the scale-up projects, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
Process Optimization & Reliability:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using automation to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance process robustness.
- Implement data-driven solutions (IoT, predictive maintenance, AI-based monitoring) to improve manufacturing performance.
- Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshooting to enhance process reliability and product quality.
Production Growth & Leadership:
- Support the scaling-up of production activities through automation and digital transformation initiatives.
- Provide technical leadership and training to production teams on new automated systems.
- Ensure all automation projects comply with ISO 13485, FDA, and GMP regulatory requirements.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering technical excellence within the team.
- Assist in budget planning, resource allocation, and project prioritization for automation initiatives.
Requirements
Do you have experience in SolidWorks?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * Master's degree in mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or a related field).
- 8+ years of experience in medical device manufacturing or other highly regulated industries.
- Proven expertise in manufacturing, industrial automation, and lean manufacturing.
- Project management experience, including leading cross-functional automation projects from development to production scale-up.
- Knowledge in CAD, SolidWorks is a plus
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing data management and ERP systems.
- Deep understanding of ISO 13485, FDA regulations, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Fluent in French & English.
