An opportunity for a Tactical Communications Lab Test Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid).
The selected candidate will join the TADVA3 team as a member of the Flight & Integration Test Centre. Our department is in charge of IV&V (Integration, Verification, and Validation) activities to demonstrate correct system performance across the Airbus Defence and Space portfolio (including Eurofighter, A400M, and Eurodrone). We work in a highly technical and multidisciplinary environment, managing complex integration rigs, virtual testing, and tactical data networks to provide key testing clearances., The main tasks of the jobholder will be:
- Test Design & Specification: Analyze technical and design requirements to build coherent Rig Test Cases, procedures, and specifications for global integration rigs.
- Dataset & Scenario Creation: Prepare required test datasets prior to run-time execution, including simulation requirements, test scripts, and tactical scenarios.
- Test Execution: Run technical test steps utilizing advanced lab equipment, Test Support Systems (MaTE, AIDASS, LabView), and specialized datalink simulators.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Investigate systems' behavior, author test report documentation, and manage the lifecycle of equipment problem reports.
- Tool & Process Management: Manage associated configuration and controlling tools (DOORS, Octane) and specify ad-hoc test tools for automation or decoding.
Requirements

- Education: Telecommunications, Radiocommunications, Electronics, or Aeronautical Engineering degree.
- Experience: At least 4 years of experience in Military Aircraft Communication Systems (Tactical Datalinks, Mission Comms, or Safety Comms).
- Technical knowledge: Expertise in systems under test (MIDS Link 16/22, VMF) and lab equipment (bus analyzers, sniffers, or Test Support Systems).
- Soft skills: Proactive problem solver, team-oriented, rigorous, autonomous, and capable of working under strict timescales.
- Languages: Advanced level in English and Spanish.
- Requirements: NATO security clearance eligibility and eligibility for ITAR/National Export Control authorizations.
- Valuable / Nice to have: Programming skills for software tooling, automated testing scripts, or advanced requirements traceability tools.
