The salary for this role is £32,903 plus outstanding benefits . Onsite working is expected for 3 days a week, however, we actively support requests for flexible working., We are seeking a part-time organised and detail-oriented Information Rights Administrator to support our Data Protection Officer (DPO) in delivering key information governance, data protection, and transparency responsibilities.
In this part-time role (29 hours per week), you will assist with day-to-day data protection activities, including maintaining records, supporting compliance monitoring, and promoting best practice across the organisation.
You will also act as the primary contact for Freedom of Information (FOI) and Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) requests, managing the end-to-end process to ensure timely, accurate, and legally compliant responses.
Working collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation, you will help foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and responsible information management., Data Protection
- Supporting the processing of data subject access requests.
- Assisting with the compliance and governance reporting activities.
- Assisting with the development and maintenance of the Register of Processing Activities, (the RoPA).
- Assisting with the development and maintenance of the data protection SharePoint.
Freedom of Information & Environmental Information Requests
- Providing prompt triage of requests by engaging with SMEs for responses, tracking progress and checking provided information against UKAEA and UK Government policies or strategies.
- Collaborating with the UKAEA External Communications Team to ensure responses are aligned to UKAEA expectations and delivered to the requestor within the specified timeframe.
- Supporting the DPO in identifying opportunities to continually improve the FOI and EIR processes by promoting awareness across the UKAEA Group and through the maintenance of associated policies, procedures, guidance.
Requirements
Do you have experience in SharePoint?, Do you have a GCSE?, * Experience with processing FOI requests and/or knowledge of legislation pertaining to FOIs and data protection. Formal training in either discipline is an advantage.
- Experience with working in a fast-paced customer-focused environment.
- Ability to work in a team and be able to communicate technical issues clearly to managers and colleagues.
- Good interpersonal, planning, and organisational skills.
- GCSE level education.
- Experienced in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word and Share Point.
