Job description
We are looking for an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer to join a cloud platform and DevOps engineering team on an initial 6-month remote contract outside IR35. This role will focus on supporting and evolving a large-scale AWS environment with a strong emphasis on Kubernetes, automation, CI/CD, observability, and cloud-native engineering. You'll work closely with engineering, security, and operations teams to improve platform reliability, deployment automation, and operational maturity across a modern AWS estate.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on AWS cloud engineering experience within production environments
- Strong Kubernetes experience including Amazon EKS, Docker, Helm Charts, and Karpenter
- Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with Bamboo, Octopus Deploy, Bitbucket, or similar tooling
- Strong Infrastructure as Code experience using CloudFormation and AWS CDK
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Bash, PowerShell, or similar
- Experience supporting containerised applications across EKS and ECS
Strong experience across AWS services and monitoring and observability tooling including:
- EKS, ECS, EC2, Lambda
- RDS PostgreSQL, SQL Server, DynamoDB
- VPC, Route53, Security Groups, ACM
- EventBridge, SNS, SQS, SES
- API Gateway and CloudFront
- CloudWatch
- Splunk
- New Relic
