Job description

The OpportunityThis is a unique opportunity for a graduate or early-career professional to apply their data, systems, and problem-solving skills in a live operational environment. Unlike traditional technical roles, this position sits at the intersection of:

  • Data & reporting
  • Process improvement
  • Automation & systems
  • Emerging AI tools

You will work directly with operational teams to improve how work flows across the business, building practical solutions that have a visible impact on efficiency, quality, and performance.This role will initially be offered on a contract (day-rate/hourly basis), with a clear opportunity to transition into a permanent position based on performance and business needs. Key ResponsibilitiesData & Reporting

  • Work with operational data to analyse performance and support decision-making
  • Build and maintain reports and dashboards (Excel / Power BI or similar)
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity

Process Improvement

  • Identify inefficiencies in existing workflows and propose improvements
  • Support the redesign of processes to improve visibility, tracking, and flow
  • Help standardise reporting and operational practices

Systems & Automation

  • Develop simple tools, automations, or workflows to reduce manual activity
  • Use platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform or similar tools
  • Support system enhancements and change initiatives

AI & Digital Innovation

  • Explore practical use of AI tools (e.g. Copilot, automation tools) to improve processes
  • Assist in introducing AI-assisted solutions to enhance productivity and insight
  • Stay curious and proactive in identifying opportunities to apply new technologies

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with non-technical teams to understand real-world challenges
  • Translate business problems into practical solutions
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with a range of stakeholders, What Success Looks Like
  • Delivering tools or automations that improve efficiency
  • Producing reporting or dashboards used by the business
  • Contributing to measurable improvements in processes or data visibility
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the site

Requirements

  • A degree in Computer Science, Data, Business, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Confidence working with data and Excel (pivot tables, data manipulation)
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to explain ideas clearly
  • A proactive, curious mindset with a desire to learn

Desirable

  • Experience with Power BI, Power Automate, or similar tools
  • Exposure to data analysis, reporting, or process improvement
  • Awareness or practical use of AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Copilot)
  • Basic programming or scripting experience (e.g. Python)
