Job description
We're partnering with a well-established global organisation known for its work in data-driven products and large-scale analytical solutions. Their Cardiff-based analytics team is expanding, and they're looking for a Data Scientist who enjoys working with complex datasets, statistical modelling, and cloud-based analytical tools.
This is a great opportunity to join a high-performing team of seven, contributing to both day-to-day analytical work and longer-term development initiatives.
What You'll Be Doing
- Running independent statistical analysis on large datasets
- Presenting analytical findings to business stakeholders
- Supporting credit application assessments and financial/risk analysis
- Contributing to research and development projects
- Monitoring and evaluating model performance
- Supporting the migration of analytical processes to cloud platforms
Requirements
- Degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, quantitative methods, or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of statistical methods
- Experience with cloud technologies (Databricks preferred)
- Coding experience in data science/ML languages (Python, R)
- Ability to communicate statistical insights to non-technical audiences
- Experience working with large datasets, including matching and merging multiple sources
