Job description
Performs highly complex (senior-level) web design and development. Work involves web environment design, deployment, development, and maintenance activities. This role supports the agency's mission by maintaining and improving the agency website, ensuring usability, reliability, and compliance with internal, statewide and federal standards., * Analyze the layout of Internet or intranet pages for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintain the day-to-day operation and administration of agency websites.
- Develop and maintain web applications.
- Design and implement new or revised methods that effectively meet agency needs.
- Determine operational and technical requirements for web applications, databases, and related components.
- Coordinate and implement web content, including graphics, text, and multimedia elements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain software solutions and systems integration projects supporting Internet, intranet, and external portal communities.
- Interact and communicate with the information management team or hosting agency to resolve hardware or software issues affecting websites.
- Work with technical staff to support hosting environments, and deployments
- Work with technical staff to support secure web practices and compliance with applicable standards.
- Support compliance with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG), privacy regulations, and agency policies, including maintaining high accessibility standards (e.g., target score of 98%).
- Use programming languages and tools to modify or develop code for web applications.
- May coordinate with information technology team, internal teams or other state agencies to address hardware or software issues, rules, regulations and content for website
- Perform related work as assigned.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Website management?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, Knowledge of web application design techniques and architecture.
Knowledge of programming and scripting languages used in web development (e.g., PHP, ASP (Classic ASP), JavaScript, HTML5, CSS).
Knowledge of relational databases, query languages (e.g., SQL), and data integration techniques.
Knowledge of techniques used in the design of web applications.
Knowledge of web standards, accessibility requirements (e.g., WCAG), and usability best practices.
Knowledge of web hosting environments, browser compatibility, and responsive design principles.
Skill in developing, testing, and maintaining web applications and websites.
Skill in troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving technical issues in a timely manner.
Skill in working with databases, APIs, and system integrations.
Skill in collaborating with cross-functional teams, including IT, content creators, and stakeholders.
Skill in using development tools such as version control systems (e.g., Git) and code editors/IDEs.
Skill in modifying or developing programs web-based applications.
Ability to design web pages; handle multiple projects; and to communicate effectively.
Ability to evaluate and improve website performance, usability, and functionality.
Ability to work with technical staff (e.g., system administrators, programmers, security personnel) to support web operations.
Ability to follow technical directions and established standards.
Education and Experience Requirements
At least 3 years of experience in web design, web development, website administration, or related technical roles that support the creation, management, or enhancement of websites or web applications.
Bachelor's degree in in a field such as information technology, computer science, digital media, or another discipline relevant to web work is preferred. Experience and education may be substituted for one another.
Experience using programming languages such as PHP, ASP, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, or modifying and developing programs for computer applications is required.
License Required: None.
If registered as a pharmacy technician, must possess a current registration certificate and be in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
Environmental and Physical Conditions
Normal office environment. Tobacco-free workplace. Sitting and operating a personal computer for long periods of time. Correctly lift up to 25 pounds. Physical conditions will require a person with sufficient stamina to maintain a constant high level of concentration, frequently intense with many interruptions, for long periods of time.
