Job description

A Kforce client is looking for a Senior Software Engineer in Test in the Miami or Dallas area. This role is focused on web application testing and will serve as a dedicated quality resource across multiple product pods. Responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining automated test coverage using modern web automation tools, with a strong emphasis on Playwright and JavaScript. The engineer will collaborate closely with software engineers and other automation specialists to determine what should be automated and at which level of the testing pyramid. This role requires a strong engineering mindset, ownership of end-to-end quality efforts, and the ability to leverage AI-assisted testing tools to improve efficiency, coverage, and feedback loops. The Engineer will also contribute to documentation, troubleshooting quality-related issues, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high-quality delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5-7 years of experience in software testing or quality engineering
  • Strong background in web application testing with a focus on automation
  • Hands-on experience with Playwright (must-have)
  • Proficiency in JavaScript for test automation
  • Experience testing Next.js and React applications
  • Ability to balance manual testing while driving automation strategy forward
  • Experience designing and maintaining automated test suites across UI, API, and integration layers
  • Familiarity with Agile development environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
