Job description
This position is for an Application Production Support Engineer responsible for the day-to-day operations of a technology platform. The role involves identifying potential production issues, creating and managing incident tickets, and communicating with development and business operations teams. The engineer will lead maintenance for all production services, including incident management, release deployment, and application monitoring to ensure service level agreements are met., * Manage and maintain the technology platform, including Java, MS SQL Server, Oracle, and Unix systems.
- Provide front-line technical support to end-users, responding to issues related to incident and problem management.
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve technical issues using advanced query and programming skills.
- Conduct root cause analysis and identify mitigation strategies to prevent future occurrences.
- Collaborate with technology infrastructure, development, and testing teams to support releases and system upgrades.
- Assess issue severity, coordinate with support teams, and escalate as needed to ensure timely restoration of services.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for off-hours and weekend support.
- Identify system vulnerabilities and opportunities for improvement, maintaining metrics to drive analysis.
Requirements
Experience: 5+ years of relevant IT experience in roles such as Production Support, ITIL, or Release Support.
Technical Skills:
- Proven knowledge in Java/J2EE (Core Java, JDBC, EJB, Java Web Services) and server-side technologies (SOAP/RESTful services, XML/XSLT, Micro Services, MuleSoft).
- Experience with middleware components like IBM WebSphere MQ, JBoss, or MuleSoft.
- Strong operating system knowledge in Unix and Windows, including scripting skills.
- Experience with Oracle, DB2, and PL/SQL query performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring or scheduling tools such as Dynatrace or App Dynamics.
- Knowledge of event-driven and schedule-driven batch processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Splunk and Kafka.
- Proficiency in Python scripting.

The anticipated pay range for this position is $70.00 to $73.68 per hour. This position is eligible for benefits.
