Vice President, Senior Data Engineer

In this role, you will contribute to building a greenfield data and intelligence platform for Equities, playing a key role in defining the architecture, selecting tooling, and setting the strategic direction of a modern data ecosystem. You will partner with global engineering and business teams to deliver scalable analytics, enable Real Time insights, and support data-driven decision-making across the trading organization., To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

• Considerable Python experience for data engineering and service development, leveraging frameworks and libraries such as FastAPI, PySpark, Pydantic, and asyncio.
• Practical expertise with AWS cloud services, including EC2, ECS/Fargate, EMR, Glue, and S3.
• Proficiency in data orchestration and workflow management tools like Airflow or Dagster.
• Familiarity with modern data lake architectures and storage formats, including Iceberg, Parquet, and data catalog solutions.
• Experience optimizing production systems through caching strategies using technologies such as Redis, GridGain, or Apache Ignite.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

• Experience with Databricks or Snowflake.
• Observability and monitoring platforms such as Grafana or Splunk.
• Streaming and messaging technologies such as Kafka.
• Experience in Java and JavaScript.

Minimum Salary: $170,000

Maximum Salary: $230,000
