Job description
Our client, a global provider of high-quality products within the hospitality and food service space, is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineering Technician to support automated and semi-automated manufacturing equipment at their Manlius facility.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting equipment issues, working directly on the production floor, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The right person will be mechanically inclined, analytical, responsive, and comfortable balancing both urgent production needs and longer-term equipment improvements.
Key things to note:
- Onsite Monday-Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm at the Manlius office (no weekends or on-call requirements)
- Hands-on role supporting proprietary automated and semi-automated manufacturing equipment
- Collaborative engineering environment with strong interaction across Production, Engineering, and Maintenance
- Opportunity to support custom in-house equipment builds, redesigns, troubleshooting, and production improvements
- Fast-paced environment requiring responsiveness, adaptability, and strong troubleshooting skills, * Respond to equipment stoppages and production floor issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime
- Troubleshoot mechanical, equipment, and process-related problems within an automated manufacturing environment
- Implement short-term corrective actions while assisting with long-term solutions to recurring issues
- Support preventive maintenance activities and provide input on PM procedures and schedules
- Assist with equipment rebuilds, installations, tooling updates, and production startup activities
- Participate in equipment runoffs, changeovers, and first-piece production trials
- Support quality investigations and recommend appropriate disposition of non-conforming materials
- Document standard work instructions, operator procedures, equipment issues, corrective actions, and process updates
- Maintain organized, clean, and safe work areas in alignment with 5S standards
Requirements
Do you have experience in Computer literacy?, Do you have a Associate's degree?, Targeted candidate will bring 3+ years of experience within a manufacturing, engineering technician, automation support, or equipment troubleshooting environment.
Other priorities include:
- Experience supporting automated or semi-automated manufacturing equipment
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability and hands-on problem-solving skills
- Experience working around custom machinery, conveyors, sensors, pneumatics, motors, or similar automation systems preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Comfortable balancing reactive troubleshooting with longer-term equipment improvements
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with willingness to support production needs as needed
- Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office
- Associate degree in Engineering Technology or related field
- Prior experience within high-volume or automated manufacturing environments strongly preferred
Comprehensive training and onboarding will be provided, but success in this role requires someone who is adaptable, mechanically curious, team-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of production floor issues within a manufacturing environment., * Associate (Required)
