Job description

Apply strong technical skills and a mission-focused mindset to understand client needs, identify opportunities, and design data-driven solutions. Work across multiple data efforts by connecting and analyzing diverse data sources, applying statistical methods, and developing analytics products using Python and SQL. Work across multiple data and automation efforts by building workflows and applications using Power Apps and Power Automate, integrating diverse data sources, and developing analytics products and dashboards, particularly in Tableau. Communicate clearly to translate technical findings for both technical and non-technical audiences, including leadership. Engage directly with clients to gather requirements, adapt solutions to mission needs, and drive initiatives forward while collaborating across teams and supporting on-site work in the Washington, D.C. area. Develop data solutions by:

  • Building automated workflows and applications using Power Automate and Power Apps.

  • Developing high-quality Tableau dashboards and data visualization products.

  • Building data pipelines and analytical workflows leveraging Python and SQL.

  • Collaborating with various technical and non-technical clients to enable development and deployment of dashboards and technologies that will scale across the project's data stack.

  • Designing and presenting analytics output, including visualizations and reports, that clearly convey findings and recommendations.

Requirements

  • Active SECRET or higher security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree
  • THREE (3) years or more years of professional experience in data analysis, data science, or data engineering
  • Experience in connecting data sources and wrangling and analyzing data using Python.
  • Experience in querying and wrangling data using SQL.
  • Ability to work on client site in Washington D.C. as needed and support future projects that are on-site or hybrid in the DC metro area or remote as needed.

What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • FIVE (5) years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proficiency in, or willingness to quickly learn, building Tableau dashboards and visual analytics.
  • Proficiency in, or willingness to quickly learn, Power Platform, including Power Apps and Power Automate.
  • Experience developing and deploying machine learning models in Python.
  • Ability to understand client mission, business processes, and data nuances and adapt data science solutions accordingly.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate and present technical solutions, insights, and results to technical and non-technical audiences, including leadership, and discuss how they can be used to inform business decisions.
  • Ability to be a self-starter and self-manager, meet with clients to gather requirements, and proactively follow through to push initiatives forward, integrating collaboratively with other teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to think strategically and drive innovation.
  • Experience with vector databases and developing Retrieval-Augmented Generation applications.
  • Experience with natural language processing (NLP) and semantic matching.
  • Experience performing analytics and data engineering in a cloud environment, such as Azure or AWS.
  • Ability to support business development including RFP, RFQ, and RFI responses and white papers.
  • Relevant experience supporting Department of State or other Federal Government organizations.
