Job description

Kforce has a client in San Antonio, TX that is seeking a Release Train Engineer. Summary: We are seeking a highly collaborative Release Train Engineer (RTE) to lead, coach, and facilitate our Agile Release Train (ART). In this role, you will not act as a traditional top-down manager, but rather as a servant leader and coach who removes systemic impediments, manages cross-team dependencies, and optimizes delivery flow. You will serve as the central facilitator connecting Scrum Masters, Product Management, System Architects, and Executive Stakeholders to ensure our development pipeline aligns directly with strategic business objectives. A Release Train Engineer (RTE) operates as a "Chief Scrum Master" responsible for orchestrating and optimizing the operations of an Agile Release Train (ART). Operating within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), this professional works as a high-level servant leader who synchronizes multiple cross-functional teams to ensure continuous value delivery.

Requirements

  • Previous RTE experience
  • Strong technical analyst skills - this person doesn't have to be a technical SME but ideally will have enough technical savvy to ask good questions improving our business requirement processes
  • Strong presentation skills - both orally and visually
  • Strong personality able to deliver messages to large audiences
  • Presentation skills to deliver professional messages via PowerPoint, white papers, email, etc.

Agile expertise (ideally SAFe - Scaled Agile Framework), Kanban, Scrum

  • Experience with Jira and Rally - including knowledge to build reports and graphs to measure metrics and progress throughout the ART (Agile Release Train)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
