Job description

As a Digital Hardware Development Engineer in our Public Safety group, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing control hardware solutions for use in public safety radio products., * Support and maintain current shipping radio and console products.

  • New development and support of digital, analog, and audio designs used in our Mission Critical Public Safety communication systems.
  • Digital circuitry development, including Microprocessor/DSP, FPGA, memory, and Ethernet interface.
  • Analog circuitry development, including audio circuitry, codec interfacing, audio gain, and power amplifier design.
  • Circuit simulation of Electrical designs and utilizing the latest test equipment for circuit analysis and certification.
  • Automated test setup and execution using Python scripting.
  • Utilize test equipment such as a scope, logic analyzer, signal generators, function generators, and audio analyzers to perform circuit testing and certification to ensure compliance with design requirements.
  • Develop intellectual property for the corporation.

Requirements

  • Design of digital circuits, experience with Microprocessor/Microcontroller, DSP, FPGA, and memory subsystem.
  • Design of wired network, experience with Ethernet PHY and switch.
  • Design of analog and audio circuits, experience with audio CODECs.
  • Measure audio performance utilizing associated measurement equipment.
  • Design using operational amplifiers, signal-to-noise design, dynamic range, clipping, and amplifier feedback circuitry.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • As part of the design work, the use of a scope and logical analyzer, audio test equipment such as signal generators, function generators, and audio analyzers.
  • Knowledge or experience with development tools such as digital and analog circuit simulators.
  • Experience with Schematic capture tools, Cadence is a plus.
  • Experience and knowledge in HDL and FPGA design are a plus., * Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position
