Job description
We are seeking an Application Programmer III to join our team supporting Market Risk platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in production support, SQL, and UNIX/Linux, and a proven ability to manage incidents, resolve user queries, and improve stability and efficiency across risk systems. Responsibilities:
- Respond to and resolve business queries for the Market Risk space.
- Manage the user query mailbox and ensure timely, appropriate responses.
- Support data feeds and batch processes, including alerting and monitoring.
- Use ITSM, ITRS, JIRA, DynaTrace, and Splunk to update tickets and produce reports.
- Own incident management, send user notifications, and manage escalations.
- Maintain documentation and knowledge articles.
- Coordinate with development teams to drive resolution of issues.
- Assist with operational and service metrics reporting.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute Business Continuity testing and documentation.
- Organize and run meetings for issue triage and resolution.
- Identify and deliver automation to reduce manual, repeatable tasks.
Requirements

10+ years of production support experience.

Strong SQL proficiency.

Strong UNIX/Linux knowledge.

Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.

Working knowledge of ITIL practices.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Effective project and time management skills.

Ability to work in a multi-regional team.

Working knowledge of ITRS, DynaTrace, and Splunk.

Working knowledge of Autosys and batch job management (e.g., BMC/Control-M or similar).

Python scripting knowledge. Preferred Skills:

Financial industry experience with exposure to Market Risk.

Experience with Agile methodology.

Operations exposure with Windows OS.

Working knowledge of Tableau.
