Job description

Champion the full application stackNode.js and Express back-end services and AngularJS front-end

Architect and evolve event-driven systems for instrument control and orchestration

Build and enhance rich data visualizationschromatograms, gauges, fit charts

Push the boundaries of scientific computingpeak detection, calibration curve fitting, and data processing

Lead the charge on AI-powered development tools to accelerate delivery and raise code quality

Spot and seize opportunities to integrate AI/ML capabilities into the platform

Define and execute a migration strategy to move the platform toward a modern front-end frameworkwithout breaking whats running on real instruments today

Requirements

Strong JavaScript (ES5/ES6) and Node.js/Express experienceREST APIs, event-driven architecture, npm

Front-end experience with AngularJS 1.x or similar legacy SPA frameworks

Experience with a modern front-end framework (Angular 2+, React, or Vue)youll help chart the path forward

Python proficiency for scientific data processing (pandas, NumPy/SciPy)

Comfortable maintaining and improving a long-lived codebase

Hands-on with AI-assisted development workflows

Strong Linux experience

A self-starter with infectious energy

Even Better If You Have

Experience migrating AngularJS 1.x applications to a modern framework

Data visualization experience (Highcharts, D3, Canvas)

Docker and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines)

Domain knowledge in analytical chemistry or scientific instrumentation

Qualifications

Education and Experience Required

BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field

5+ years of professional software development experience

Benefits & conditions

The expected salary range for this position is between $110,000 and $150,000 per year. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. In addition, INFICON employees are eligible for a profit-sharing bonus with a target of 10% as well as 401K match up to 8% (vesting schedule).
