Job description

A growing organization is seeking an experienced Network Security Engineer to support and secure enterprise network infrastructure and critical systems. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining network security solutions that protect organizational systems, applications, and data from internal and external threats.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with enterprise firewall technologies, VPN solutions, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and secure network architecture. This position requires close collaboration with infrastructure, operations, and cybersecurity teams to ensure the stability, security, and compliance of enterprise environments.

This is an onsite position based in the Memphis, TN area. Candidates must currently reside locally and be available to work onsite Monday through Friday. Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, implement, and support enterprise network security solutions including firewalls, VPN technologies, IDS/IPS systems, and network access controls
  • Monitor and analyze network traffic, security events, and system activity to identify vulnerabilities, threats, and unauthorized access attempts
  • Maintain secure LAN/WAN environments including routing, switching, VLANs, ACLs, segmentation, and QoS configurations
  • Perform vulnerability assessments, risk analysis, remediation planning, and security incident response activities
  • Support secure remote connectivity solutions and enterprise wireless security initiatives
  • Utilize monitoring and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex network and security-related issues
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, security procedures, standards, and disaster recovery plans
  • Support cybersecurity compliance efforts and assist with regulatory and security audit requirements
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, server, application, and operational teams to ensure secure deployment and integration of enterprise technologies
  • Participate in ongoing improvements related to network performance, reliability, and security posture

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise network security environments
  • Strong experience with TCP/IP, LAN/WAN technologies, routing, switching, VLANs, and network segmentation
  • Extensive experience configuring and supporting enterprise firewall technologies, preferably Palo Alto and/or Cisco
  • Experience implementing and supporting site-to-site and remote access VPN technologies utilizing IPsec and SSL
  • Strong knowledge of IDS/IPS technologies, security monitoring, vulnerability management, and incident response
  • Experience with network authentication technologies, access controls, multifactor authentication, and directory services
  • Experience utilizing packet analysis, monitoring, and troubleshooting tools for network diagnostics and issue resolution
  • Working knowledge of DNS, DHCP, SNMP, NetFlow, QoS, and enterprise monitoring solutions
  • Strong written documentation and communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field required, or a four-year degree with at least 12 IT-related credit hours
  • Must currently reside in the Memphis, TN area, * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Security+, CISSP, CCSP, Palo Alto PCNSE, or CCNP Security
  • Experience supporting enterprise cybersecurity compliance initiatives and disaster recovery planning
  • Experience securing large-scale enterprise infrastructure environments
