Indian River State College is seeking a dynamic and experienced Ellucian Banner Subject Matter Expert to help power the systems that support student success across our institution. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker and hands-on problem solver who understands Banner inside and out - and who is passionate about using technology to improve processes, data integrity, and the overall student experience.
As a key member of our team, you will serve as the go-to expert for Ellucian Banner, partnering with cross-functional departments to optimize system performance, enhance workflows, and ensure accurate reporting and compliance. Your expertise will directly impact how we serve students, faculty, and staff across the College.
If you are an Ellucian Banner expert who thrives in a mission-driven, people-centered environment, we invite you to bring your knowledge and leadership to The River., * Serve as the primary liaison between Information Technology and functional departments, ensuring effective communication and translating user-reported issues into actionable technical solutions or configuration updates.
- Work closely with admissions, Registrar, Financial Aid, and Academic advising to understand operational needs and align system functionality with institutional objectives.
- Evaluate current workflows and recommend process improvements that optimize system capabilities and enhance ERP efficiency.
- Support testing and validation of new features, upgrades, and patches, while monitoring data integrity and assisting with audits or cleanup activities.
- Develop and maintain user guides, documentation and training materials; conduct workshops to promote system proficiency for staff.,(i.e. creation of Banner forms, rules, functionality and validation tables to meet institutional needs) )
- Completes other related duties and responsibilities as assigned, This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally more than twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, or related field.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience with ERP (i.e., Ellucian Banner Student module) in a functional or analyst role.
- Strong understanding of student lifecycle processes in higher education.
- Familiarity with Banner forms (e.g., SFAREGS, SGASTDN, SHRDGMR) and related tables.
- Familiarity with Florida State Reporting requirements (FASTER, Florida Shines, Florida Reporting)
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively with non-technical users.
- Preferred: Experience with SQL for data validation or reporting and knowledge of DegreeWorks, Argos, or other Ellucian-integrated tools., Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the employee must possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently. Additionally, all employees of the College are expected to maintain professional standards of communication, able to learn and apply new technology, and abide by all policies and procedures. Continued employment remains on an "at-will" basis. Travel to each of the assessments on a monthly basis or as needed.
